Hollow Horse Live - Test of a Halter Champion

April 13th is coming up, which means that Hollow Horse Live is just around the corner.

We're taking the time this weekend to prep many of our horses for their upcoming show. It is the test of a halter champion and horses may show in TWO divisions... winning a maximum of 2 NAN cards at the show in Halter. Of course, we have high hopes for Laws of Attraction and Colossus of Rhodes, as they are our consistent champions and the pride of our barn. This will be a true test for them. However, if they don't pull through in their "tougher" division, I will not hold it against them. After all, showing a custom against Artist Resins and Custom Glazed China horses is almost a surefire failure as people seem to appreciate customs the least. The plastic division is a slightly different story, as I feel that Rhodie will be able to hold his own and possibly triumph above the other OF horses since he has been so expertly groomed and handled. I guess we will have to see!

Are you going to be at Hollow Horse Live in April? Make sure to stop by and say hi! I will be judging the OF Other Make division as well as the OF China division.

Today we picked up yet another show horse. Meet Veridis Quo! Disco is a gorgeous stallion with a deep rust colored mane and tail. He is an Iberian type horse and we're going to be working to get him conditioned and ready for his first show in April!

He was a local pickup, and a surprise as we certainly weren't expecting to pick up any new horses today! I am looking forward to getting to know him!

New Stable Stalls!

Well, sorta. I am updating my Stable Stalls that I've had for the last year or two. Originally the unit was all red, but I've ordered new end panels in black with red thread (my barn colors!) to replace the other end caps. Eventually I'm going to get the 8 stall unit turned into three 4 stall units (ordering extra end pieces, boards, and a couple inner panels) I am super excited, these turned out so nice! They are a GREAT way to keep your models protected at a show or even on the shelf. You can order your own unit by clicking this text and checking out their website! They come in a plethora of colors (Black, Blue, Red, and Green to name a few) and you can order them with custom embroidery or even in different colors to best match your barn! I highly recommend these... Private Dancer and Jumper Cables like to "fight" with the other horses, and these stalls prevent them from causing any damage.

More pictures when they get here!

New Arrival: Paint it Black

Yesterday we saw the arrival of our newest warmblood stallion, Paint it Black. Dorian, as we like to call him around the barn, is quite a lovely gentleman and arrived from Pennsylvania in absolutely perfect health! He is a very competitive horse, excelling specifically in Dressage and a bit of an interest in Hunter under Saddle as well. We will nurture these talents and hopefully he will continue to excel and be a great new addition to our show horses. He will hit the show ring in mid April. Until then, training, training, training!

Here's a video review of Dorian if you're interested to see him "in the flesh" as it were. I certainly recommend him to anyone and everyone!

LOTS OF UPDATES.

I added a lot of new stuff after a long hiatus due to... life really.

First, I added the Carolina Gold Classic results to the Show Reports page.

Second, I added the Be PROUD of your hobby! section.

Third, I added my logo and barn history to the front page.

Tomorrow I will be finally finishing the Live Showing Tips section. There has actually been a fair amount of requests for it to be finished, but I hadn't realized it so I decided to add the Contact Us page so you can let me know if there's anything you'd like me to add.

Wish me luck!

    About Us

We're a model horse barn located in Region 7. We'll be sharing new additions, updates, and video postings here. Unless otherwise noted, all updates are pertaining to model horses, not their real life counterparts. So I guess you could say we do a bit of role playing in this Blog.
